We're pretty approachable at Kat Life Films.
Because we recognise that our success depends on the achievements and hard work of a lot of people.
From the director down to the wardrobe assistant, we couldn't make the films we do without your help.
So here's a little bit of info about some of the people that make Kat Life Films an exciting place to be around.

Kat Holmes - Producer
|
| |
Impossible is Nothing was Kats motto for life long before a certain sports shoe company decided to adopt it for their latest campaign.
Kat spent most her early-mid twenties overseas, in countries as diverse as Japan, China and France, before settling down in Melbourne in 1999 fluent in four languages but not sure how to use them.
In the end she worked solely in her native tongue, English, and turned to project management rising from administrative clerk to senior executive level in four years.
With the corporate world fast burning Kat out, she took time off at the end of 2003 to rethink her direction.
The result is Kat Life Films.
The blurb from the homepage pretty much sums up Kat's philosophy for film making.

Sophie O'Connor - Director
|
| |
From the moment Sophie could walk she was involved in theatre of some sort. Her passion turned more serious when she undertook a Bachelor of Theatre Production at Ballarat Academy of Performing Arts, graduating in 1998.
For the next six years Sophie plied the theatre and festival circuit, predominantly as a Stage and Production Manager. Moving from pillar to post working on major festivals both nationally and internationally, she has finally decided to sit still for more than 6 months and concentrate on creating.
Forming a Production company in 2004, Naughty Nanna Productions, with some like-minded colleagues, Sophie began experimenting with film and spent most of the year producing works, both short and feature length. Showing her versatility, she has worked as a Director, DOP, and Lighting Designer. She is now honing in on her first love, directing.
In pairing up with Kat Life Films, Sophie has been given the forum to demonstrate her gift for directing feature films. She has been described on radio as “one of the most talented young directors coming out of Melbourne today.” Whilst she resists the kudos, Sophie is keen to live up to her reputation and fans are unlikely to be disappointed by her work on “submerge.”

Karl Siemon - Director of Photography
|
| |
As an associate of the highly regarded Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), Karl was always destined to move to feature film cinematogrophy. And it didn’t take long. He received his first credit as Director of Photography on a general release feature film by the age of 22, for Radio Samurai (2001, dir. Nick Levy).
He moved on to bigger and better things with the cinematographer’s role in the multi-award winning feature, Razor Eaters (2003, dir. Shannon Young), which received U.S release in 2004 and has featured at a number of International Film Festivals.
Karl has also shot countless numbers of music videos, short films and commercial videos, but it is his extraordinary gift for visualising the story line, plot and artistic considerations to produce stunning shots and effective angles that sets him apart and has ensured "submerge" will be a stunning visual feast.
